Durant cet atelier, nous explorerons en profondeur l'approche que fait Arno Schuitemaker du mouvement continu comme il l'a travaillé dans The Way You Sound Tonight et If You Could See Me Now.
En développant au maximum la transformation d'un mouvement unique, nous sonderons les notions de durée, d'énergie et de régénération. L'approche sera celle d'un entraînement : plus vous répétez, plus vous vous améliorez. L'objectif est de devenir pleinement conscient de son corps et de le coordonner avec les autres afin de faire l'expérience de son état de performance spécifique, de sa présence et de ressentir une "unité" à plusieurs niveaux.
En se réappropiant les arts performatifs et la danse, Arno Schuitemaker crée des œuvres à vivre par chacun·e. Il est l'un des artistes néerlandais les plus passionnants de part son travail où se mêlent la relation public /artistes et le rapport à la perception. Par une intégration radicale du mouvement continu et perpétuel avec la musique et la lumière, chacune de ses performances transdisciplinaires étire la manière dont nous faisons l'expérience de l'espace et du temps. During the workshop, we deeply explore the embodiment of Arno Schuitemaker's approach to continuous movement, like he worked with in projects such as The Way You Sound Tonight and If You Could See Me Now.
We will work on developing an ongoing transformation of only a single movement and explore the notions of duration, energy and regeneration. It is approached like a 'practice': you get better and better at the more you do it. Progressing to a full awareness and grounded coordination of the body, the aim is to become fully connected with oneself and others in order to experience its specific performative state, presence and to feel “togetherness” on multiple levels.
Re-approaching performance art and dance, Arno Schuitemaker creates works one has to experience. He is one of the most exciting artists of his generation in The Netherlands with his strong focus on the perception-based relationship between the audience and performers. Through a radical integration of ongoing, perpetual movement with music and light, each of his transdisciplinary performances stretches the way we experience space and time. Feeling like a trance, they are transformative meditations on the depths of our existence.
